Start by reducing the DPI resolution of the images that you drop into the Pages document, and then potentially, the number of images. If you are using large, multipage tables to organize your content, that too may be causing document bloat. These efforts will likely reduce the size of the Pages document without you giving up some quality by using the File menu > Reduce File Size… menu item.
