Got it, thanks rhys168. It is possible that there is a hardware issue affecting this iPod nano's ability to restore itself. We'd suggest testing with another cable and computer, if that is possible. If the issue persists, we recommend that you contact Apple Support directly. Depending on your region, you may be able to reach them here: Get Support.
Cheers.
Hi, rhys168. To confirm, were you unable to put your iPod into Target Disk Mode? Can you let us know a bit more about what happened, so we can best assist you? If your computer isn't recognizing your device, testing with another cable, USB port or computer may be helpful, if that is possible.
Cheers!
Thanks for the explanation on that. Do you get an error message or any type of explanation as to the restore failure? What specifically happens? Can you walk us through what you see when you choose to restore the iPod in iTunes?
We'll be waiting to hear back from you! Have a good day.
It didn’t work but thanks for the help anyway
I was able to put it into disk mode but the restore didn’t work. The computer recognizes it but won’t restore the iPod
I can click restore iPod then it acts like it wants to but then it says it couldn’t be restored and says error 1439
It could be a iTunes issue I guess. I don’t have another cable or computer to try but I can try to find one!
Hope you have a great day
