How to I add iPhone photos (currently not on iCloud) to iclouds existing (from a Mac) photos so they merge?

I have an existing macbook, with photos on iCloud, and I want to add my IPhone’s images so they merge, thereby having a combined photo set on both devices?

If both devices are using the same Apple ID for iCloud, if you turn on iCloud Photos in the iPhone, they will merge on iCloud and on both devices. Also see: Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support
