Verify Compatibly:

What is the Year and Model?

  1. Go toApple Menu
  2. Select: About this Mac...
  3. View: the Year

You have Yosemite Installed.

So, see if your Mac is compatible with Catalina. Go Here: How to upgrade to macOS Catalina - Apple Support

If it turns out being compatible, then you much first upgrade to High Sierra, and then proceed from there with an upgrade to Catalina.
