iPad didn’t automatically backup to cloud
My new iPad is set to automatically back up to the cloud but it is not

The initial backup to iCloud must be manually triggered - after which automatic backup will occur when the iPad is Locked and connected to both WiFi and its Power Adapter.
Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud Backup > Back Up now
