Does deleting an app cancel a subscription?

I am an iPhone neophyte and I find the App Store and iTunes very confusing! I looked at an app very carefully and couldn't find any information about whether it was free or pay or a subscription. I decided to download it and found that it was free for 7 days but then would cost £20/month which is WAY more than I wanted to pay for a plant identification app. After trawling through all my accounts and support pages, I have deleted the app from my phone. It still appears in my Purchase History (with Total Billed as 0), but as I understand it, deleting it will have cancelled it and I should not be charged after the seven days. I just wanted to confirm whether that is correct or not. Thank you for your help! (It would be a BIG improvement if the App Store clearly said what the payment models are up front!!)

Because you spoke to Apple directly, Support staff have likely intervened for you and removed the subscription.

Just remember for the future that this is how you would normally cancel a trial app's subscription.

I did that, but it didn't appear in Subscriptions so I couldn't follow those instructions. I have received a reply from Apple Help now that explained that if it doesn't appear in Subcriptions, then it is not active and will not charge you. It is very unclear the difference between Subscriptions and Purchases.

The question is, has the 7 day trial period passed? Deleting an app DOES NOT usually cancel a subscription for an app from the App Store.
