No audio in Target Display Mode

Hi, I recently upgraded my 27", late-2013 iMac to Catalina and my 15" 2017 MacBook Pro to Big Sur and now my iMac has no sound when in Target Display Mode. I have confirmed the speakers still work. It seems to be related to upgrading my MacBook to Big Sur. I have already attempted the SMC reset with no luck. Any other suggestions?

"Target display mode requires macOS High Sierra or earlier on the iMac used as the external display. It does not work with macOS Mojave or later."
