Notification center not working on Big Sur

I have a 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro (2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7, 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4) and ever since I installed Big Sur, my Notification Centre does not work. I though it might have been an update error so I waited for a few more updates (the latest one installed being 11.2.3 (20D91)) but still nothing. It works for a brief second when I turn the laptop on or reset it. And then afterwards nothing. When I look at it on the Activity Monitor, it says '(Not responding)'. And then I quit it or force quit it and then it works for <1 min and then it's back to square one.

Anyone have any insight as to what's going on and/or how to fix it?

Thank you in advance!

Hello toivan_ and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty with Notification Center on a Mac. There are a couple of steps that would allow you to isolate the cause of this to something in macOS or something in the user data.

1) Start by doing a safe boot of the Mac. This will clear some cache files, turn off some system extensions and log-in items and give you a good foundation. After doing the safe boot, reboot normally and test.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

2) If the issue persists after a safe boot, set up a new admin user account and boot into that for testing. Doing so helps you to isolate the issue to the system or the user data and ultimately resolve it.

Cheers.
