Color display profile cannot be changed

Anyone have any idea why I would not be able to change my displays color profile in System Preferences?

For external 4k display connected to MacBook Pro.

Each time I select a different profile, it immediately changes back to the sRGB profile it is set to.

Profiles for this display checked or not does not matter.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2

Restart in Safe Mode (restart and hold down the Shift key).

When you reach the desktop, open the Preferences folder in your user account. Delete the file:

com.apple.systempreferences.plist

Restart normally, and try changing your profile again.

This plist saves various preferences. You'll have to check through the System Preferences and see what else may have gone back to the defaults.
