Wireless keyboard not recognised by mac mini

My mac mini is not recognizing my wireless keyboard. I replaced the batteries but still not working. I have also used unsuccessfully the reconnect button behind the keyboard. Any suggestions? TIA

Try installing a different set of batteries.

Get, buy, barrow an inexpensive USB keyboard, connect and use it to troubleshoot your wireless keyboard.
