I have several icons on my homescreen i added from websites i wanted to have easy access to for awhile. However i cannot remove them now via the usual means (hold till they wiggle then hit x or -) as that doesnt appear any more. Help!

This may be due to a Screen Time restriction.
On your iPhone, go to:
Settings -> Screen Time -> Content & Privacy Restrictions -> iTunes & App Store Purchases -> Deletings Apps.
It must be set to Allow before you can delete apps.
