Unable to access ipad when converted to hebrew keypad

I changed the ipad keyboard language to Hebrew and am now unable to access it with an English password as there is not a corresponding Hebrew letter for each individual English letter.

Apple says this cannot be fixed, that the ipad must be reset to factory settings.

Any ideas? Thanks.
