I use preview to annotate pdfs a lot - with Apple Pencil. But the thumbnails on the RHS always get in the way and jump me to later pages. They disappear when scrolling but always reappear when writing. It’s infuriating and feels like a gaping design flaw. Which makes me think there’s probably a very obvious solution I’ve overlooked... is there any way of turning thumbnails off on preview or of moving them to the LHS of screen?

The thumbnail strip cannot be manually suppressed or switched to the other side of the screen.
