Backup external hard drives

I am looking for suggestions for a good backup system for my I Mac. Any thoughts?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 11.2

Hi bolosara,

Use Time Machine: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support.

For this you need an external hard drive at least twice the size of your internal hard drive. Anything that Apple sells here is a great choice for an external backup drive: Storage - Mac Accessories - Apple, except the PROMISE systems, DVD drives, Mac Pro upgrades, and USB flash drives.
