HomePod Mini doesn't run my shortcuts

The title is pretty straightforward. The HomePod Mini doesn't recognise my shortcuts and Siri answers saying "I'm not sure I understand" every time I ask it to run a shortcut.


Here are the things I tried/did with no luck:

  • Factory reset HomePod
  • Restart iPhone
  • Restart HomePod
  • Restart router
  • Remove and re-add shortcuts
  • Sign-out and sign-in from iCloud in iPhone
  • Sign-out and sign-in from iCloud in HomePod


Nothing worked.


HomePod in 14.5.

iPhone in 14.5.

HomePod mini, 14

It sounds like you've done some great troubleshooting steps so far. Just to confirm are all devices logged into the same Apple ID?

Hi Eric,


Yes, the HomePod is logged to my account.


In the Primary User setting page I can see my email in the "HomePod Account". I even tried to force using my personal account when HomePod doesn't recognize my voice, but it keeps changing back to the other account.


The device is already packed to be sent back. Unless you can provide me some solution right away, I will be sending it back in 3 days.
