iPad Pro freezing - help/advice requested

About 2 weeks ago the iPad started to have temporary freezes on opening new Safari tabs/webpages.

Have now noticed that it happens whenever there is a text field available anywhere in the app/screen.

For instance, when using Safari, the freezing is for the app only and will last somewhere between 30 seconds and several minutes. When it does release the iPad behaves perfectly normally again.

Whilst in Safari the screen is completely inactive it is possible to return to the iPad home screen and open other apps e.g., Mail.

It's a 250Gb model and there is over 200Gb of free space available.

Have turned off scribble for the Pencil.

Software up to date - 14.5 (was having this trouble before the update)

Any suggestions thanks.

A forced-restart of your iPad may be beneficial - as this will often resolve an isolated or unexpected software issue:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
