Trying to transfer music to my iPhone 12, message is that my account is not linked to Apple Music.

How do I link my account Apple Music so I can transfer songs to my iPhone 12. Message also says I am not linked to iCloud music. Computer is a MacBook Air, iOS Catalina (because not enough room for the latest iOS).

Are you signed in with the same Apple ID on all your devices (and computer)? Are you subscribing to Apple Music? If so, see:
