Emoji has disappeared from touchbar Macbook Pro

I have attempted to change the keyboard settings to APP controls. That does not work so then I try expanded Control strip.

I have also attempted to customize the touchbar by dragging and dropping but there is no emoji option to even drag.

Not all applications support Emojis on the Touchbar.

resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

Control Command Spacebar will present the character view most anywhere.
