I have a iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2014 and it won’t let me update to the newest OS

My Mac is running OS X Yosemite and says there is no updates available, wondering what to do to get the newest update.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on El Capitan, High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur. They're full-version upgrades and won't appear in the Updates list.
