Voice control interference when texting

I just got a new iPhone for the first time in a while, so voice control is new to me. I like it! But it causes me big problems when I’m trying to text in a noisy environment where people are talking around me. The background conversations get included in my texts! I know that turning off voice control would resolve this, but I wonder if there’s a way to just turn it off for iMessage? I would like to still be able to use voice control but without such issues while texting.

Voice Control defaults to recognizing both commands and dictation, but you can change the recognition mode to only recognize commands. To force Voice Control to only recognize commands, say “Command Mode”. To switch back to recognizing dictation as well, say “Dictation Mode”. If while in commands-only mode you want to dictate a short phrase you can use the “Type <phrase>” command, such as “Type Looking forward to seeing you.”
