In my activity app, the swim function registers time and calories and heart rate but not distance - sometimes not at all and sometimes wildly underestimated. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Update: problem solved. It was user error. For those of us who need reading glasses, we can’t tell the difference between open water swim and pool swim when we don’t have our glasses on. Duh. Sorry for the false alarm.

Which series is it? Is this pool swimming or outdoors?
When swimming in the wild, I noticed that breast stroke definitely has this issue, but then freestyle is a lot better already. Raising the watch arm clearly above the water level naturally helps. This may also vary some degree, depending on which model you have.
