How to restore Mac OS after erasing HD.

I want to give away my Mac so I erased the hd using Shift-Command-R on startup. But I never got a chance to Restore the Mac OS. Now all I see is Internet Recovery, which takes 20 minutes and doesn't lead anywhere. Help.

Hello!

First of all, this is my first post on the Apple Discussions website. I am sorry to hear you are not able to get into Internet Recovery. Have you tried to reset the SMC or NVRAM? Also you could try another WiFi-network or a wired connection with the necessary cables. Also, when you are using an M1 Mac (which I don’t think you use because you were able to start internet recovery) you need a Mac with Apple Configurator 2 to restore your Mac.

If you have a Mac with Apple’s T2 chip, you could also try a restore with Apple Configurator 2 from another Mac (if you don’t own one yourself, maybe your friends/family/neighbors).

Good luck and I hope this helps. If you need anything else, please let me know!
