I started to set up my new MacBook Air m1, and THEN used Migration Assistant to move my files from my old Macbook Pro to the new computer. This created a second user on the new computer. I'd like to just "undo" the migration, totally. How do you do this?

ok I'm definitely not going to attempt this, the new computer is 2 days old. So I now have 2 users on the new computer, is there a way to merge or share some of the files, while deleting the applications that I migrated over? How can this be such a huge problem when new users are obviously going to use Migration Assistant to move their files over? It makes no sense that the problem I'm having is only solvable by reinstalling the OS.
No, the way to do it is to use Setup Assistant when first setting it up - it is only offered once and will establish an account and port over everything.
And, I did the Migration Asst once and spent a week trying to get rid of duplicates - it was a pain and I finally gave up and did exactly what I suggested here using setup assistant.
Good luck! As long as you have a current backup, you are good. It just takes a bit of time
