Resetting MacBook Pro

13-inch (early 2011) MacBook Pro with OS X Yosemite ( Version 10.10.5 )

specs:

Processor - 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory - 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics - Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB


I wanted to give away my MacBook Pro With the latest software supported by the hardware which is High sierra while completely erasing my HDD (Currently I am on Yosemite). please help as I am confused by the various available methods

Back up your data, then restore to factory settings by turning off certain features and services, erasing your Mac, and reinstalling macOS.
