I am unable to erase my hard drive

If you're trying to erase the internal drive inside your Mac, that will fail unless you're booted into macOS Recovery. For safety reasons, you cannot erase the disk containing the macOS that you're currently running.

If you're trying to erase a different drive or disk, or if the error is appearing while you're in macOS Recovery, please let me know.

You need to use BootCamp Assistant to remove Windows. Otherwise you will need to erase the whole physical drive and reinstall macOS and migrate from a backup.
