How Can I Clear My System Storage?

Right now my system storage is taking up about 42GB and i only have 76GB on my mac to begin with. Ive tried all the tricks i can find to clean it up including DaisyDisk, clicking Go > Option> Library, clearing cache and log files, terminal backups and nothing seems to be working. What else can i do?
