Old iTunes version 8 from XP

I fired up my old computer from years and years ago because I wanted to dig out my old music. Sure enough my 103.7 GB library is still there. Now, I don’t think that I want to connect this computer online since it has to be close to 20 years old and still running XP. Is there any way I could transfer this library to my iPhone 12 Pro Max without subjecting my old computer to 15 years worth of updates? Just thinking back in the day of hand loading and unloading hundreds and hundreds of cds. I don’t really want to go through that again. Thanks for any help.

The problem is that iTunes versions old enough to work on Windows XP (the last of which was 12.1.3 nearly six years ago) cannot support recent iOS versions, so you cannot sync your iPhone 12 Pro Max with an XP computer. As Limnos seems to be thinking, you would need to move your library to a new computer running an OS that iTunes still supports, which pretty much means Windows 10 these days (although the final iTunes version to support Windows 7 and 8 is not terribly old just yet).

Well thank you for your responses. After a little more digging around I found my old 80 GB iPod and it works! But I’m not sure if it is all that great. And bear with me because this is getting to my next query which still pertains to the iTunes library.

So the iPod works in my 2019 Corolla Car Play, but it’s kinda glitchy. I don’t know if the is the fault of the iPod because I cannot find wired headphones to try it out or if it is old vs new tech.

So this got me thinking that I should just start over fresh on a new computer, reload each cd one by one like I did 20ish years ago. So naturally I guess I would like to find an AirBook, MacBook, DesktopBook, iBook, whatever, just so it might be more seamless and possibly avoid any glitchyness. Is this the correct line of thinking? And if it is, is there a preferred device that might be ideal for only ever running iTunes, possibly with a CD drive (or external CD which I guessing is all that available any longer). Just looking for opinions and advice because clearly I’m not up to speed with current tech. I just want to continue to enjoy my library and not have to repurchase every album on the iTunes Store. And before anyone mentions streaming, I spend a lot of time where there is no service. Otherwise Pandora is my go-to. Apple Music- not for me. I tried and tried but we are worlds apart.
