TV+ episodes stop and crash the webpage

I'm using Apple TV+ in Safari, not the app because the app can't be installed on my old MacBook Pro. Each time I watch an episode, it stops at 4 or 5 minutes from the end. Veeeery annoying because that's usually in the middle of the most intense part of the episode...

Anyway, I then tried to:

  • pause and let the episode load - but it's not an uploading issue
  • go back a minute or 2 and restart the episode
  • go forward a couple of minutes
  • reload the page
  • go back to the show splash page and relaunch from there
  • reload from the show splash page

The issue doesn't happen when watching from the TV+ app on another Apple laptop.

Any idea what can be done to fix this?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and

the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.
