Move an EU-bought device to the US

Hello all,

I am planning on buying a new MacMini because my current computer is not keeping up with my needs. However, I am also planning on moving from the EU to the USA in a short while.

Is it any problem to bring an EU-bought device to the US? Is it just a matter of changing the power cord or should I really consider the power outlet difference (EU: 220v; US: 110v)?

Please share your thoughts and experiences.

Cheers!

Hello, BryanRobert.

You should be just fine bringing your EU purchased Mac to the US.

The Mac has what is called a switching power supply. It switches itself to use either 110v or the EU standard 220v.

All you need do is change the plug or cord.
