Without proof of your identity via security questions and other carefully selected criteria, Apple Support can't help you reset a password or perform any other actions on your account. These policies are audited and reviewed on a regular basis.

Based on multiple posts I have read, they will not help you recover the answers to your security questions.

Some hacker tried to do an account reset on me.. so I thought I would try resetting my account.. and ran into this ridiculous situation.

I don't own any Apple devices any more and I haven't for years.

My first job was programming Apple computers on the Power PC platform - I see nothing has changed.

My experiences as a programmer on Apple, and as a user of their devices, is precisely why many years ago I permanently dumped Apple both professionally and personally.

If you are reading this and are forever locked out of your account, it might be a good idea to do the same.

The fun with Apple stops the moment the marketing ends. I see the endless queues in front of their stores every weekend - all for tech support, and all for a fee.
