When registereing to apppleid it says invalid email address

I have an *@*.app email address. I would like to use it for my apple id, but registering fails with the error : "Please use a valid email address".

What can I do?

I solved the problem. It was a misconfigured DNS entry. There was a MX entry present but it pointed to a non existing A entry. Apple checks if the MX record resolves properly when sending the registry form, and this is a good thing.

Thank you for reaching out to our Apple Community support! I can see why this would be super frustrating, and I am happy to help. It appears there are two servers used for email services. Apple uses the servers IMAP and SMTP, it does not support the POP server. I would go into your email preferences and open settings/properties and review if the mail server type is with IMAP or SMTP. If not, I would create an iCloud email address specific to your Apple ID only. I hope this has helped, and wish you the best completing your Apple ID registration.
