Using AppleTv with IPad

Hi, if I wish to stream my IPad content to my TV using appleTv, without any internet connection or sharing the same wifi hotspot, is it possible?

I own an old appleTv which requires the devices to be in the same wifi hotspot in order to connect. Planning to get a new one. Please advice.

AirPlay streaming requires that both devices are on the same network. That is their means of communication. Depending on content, an internet connection is optional, but the (Wi-Fi) network is a requirement. Even peer-to-peer AirPlay is a sort of network setup (not recommended though).

What prevents you from setting up a proper home network?
