Some followup: A Mac will read most data files created on a Win computer asl long has you have the same app installed on the Mac, or one that can read Win docs. Example. the free LibreOffice can read and write Office files.


Windows apps won't run on a Mac so you have to buy or get Mac versions of apps to open them. If you give us an idea what kinds of files are most critical to your computer usage (word processing, spreadsheets, images. databases, etc) we can better advise you on how transportable they are to Mac.
