cannot access apple id

Both MacBook Air and MacBook Pro repeatedly ask for my password for one of my apple id. However, when I enter the password the process stops, the dialogue boxes go blank, and the timer spins. My apple id is a Gmail account. I am currently accessing through a non-Gmail apple id account.

This seems like a hack or malware 'cause it affects both computers. I have not yet seen a request for an apple id password on my iPhone.

Got it. Try restarting the Mac into Safe Mode and entering the password when the box pops up. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
