Notes synchronisation issue.

Good day Support community,

I really like to synchronize Notes on my MacBook Pro (macOS Big Sur, Version 11.5.1 (20G80)) with Notes on my iPhone 5 (Software Version 10.3.4 (14G61)). Both devices are registered to my Apple Account, so they should have access to iCloud. I also have Notes linked to a Google account.

In the past, the content of both iCloud and Google entries appeared in Notes, but it is as if Notes do not read iCloud, but it reads the entries in Google. Notes on the iPhone can access both the entries on iCloud and Google alternatively.

So the important question is how can I get the iCloud content into Notes?

Thanks in advance for your time and support.

Hi H3rC0rn5,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! We're glad you've reached out for help with this behavior you're experiencing using Notes on your Mac and iPhone 5. We'd love to help in any way we can.

To ensure we understand correctly, please let us know what you mean when you say that your iPhone can access both iCloud and Google alternatively. Do you meant that you can navigate to Google notes and iCloud notes separately using the Notes app on iPhone, but you don't have all of them listed together in one folder?

If so, this is expected behavior, as iCloud and Google notes will appear in separate folders in the Notes app. Here's a guide with more information:

Good day jcasapple,

Thanks for your response. I mentioned Notes on the iPhone 5 so that there is a baseline showing that the notes on both iCloud and Googles are there and can be accessed. Yes, I fully understand that iCloud and Google notes appear separately in the Notes app on the iPhone.

However, the problem is on the MacBookPro where both iCloud and Google notes should be shown together, it only shows the notes on Google. I do have the Note app selected in iCloud, so I'm not sure what is going on.

This said I noticed that after my upgrade the Notes app crashes and sends crash reports to Apple. So is it only on my setup that the Notes app is not syncing with iCloud?

Thanks for your support.
