Opening favourites in a separate tab with just one click and not losing the current page

In my favorites bar (below the URL in safari) I would like it so that when I click one of them, it opens in a new tab default (rather then the current page). How do I accomplish this, is there a workaround? I dont want to have to press cmd every time.

At present there is no way to accomplish that.

Click the "New Tab" "+" button in the tool bar

and then the bookmark. Bookmark will open in a new tab. You don't have to press the command key.
