What models of iPads does multitasking work for?

I have an iPad mini 4 which I bought 2017 my question is, does multitasking work for this device, and if not what iPads can multitask, or does it depend on the version of the iPad (update?)

iPad mini 4 meets the requirements for most (all?) of the features, though the available screen size will be… cramped.

You’ll want to be running iPadOS 14.7.1.
