iPhoto no update

I updated my version and iPhoto is no longer working, says to update but I cannot find an update. All my photos were there and now I can't find them

I assume you know have Catalina or Big Sur. iPhoto no longer works in those OS's.

Photos replaced iPhoto years ago.

To use Photos, Launch Photos with the option key held down. From the dialog, choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new library from your iPhoto Media. Your iPhoto library will not be changed, though it will be renamed.
