Thank you for the additional information.
Would it be correct to assume that the printer is not recognised at all by the computer, and that printing is not possible from any application?
If so, to begin with, you could try to reset the printing system and re-add the printer. Check whether the operating system offers a suitable driver. If necessary, try the latest printer driver from Epson:
Is the printer connected via USB? If so, check whether a network connection would change anything. If you have a Wi-Fi router, you could connect the printer wirelessly, or by Ethernet to one of the LAN ports.

Are you using macOS High Sierra 10.13 (this community), macOS Catalina 10.15 (in your profile), or possibly macOS Big Sur?

I am using OS Catalina 10.15.7.
The printer is Epson Workforce 635.
Anything you think would help me figure this out, please let me know.
