Problems with iTunes after upgrading to Windows 10

I upgraded to Windows 10 Professional from Windows 7 Professional and this resolved issues I was having with MS Office everything else is OK too.

However, I have found one issue following the upgrade and that

is the when using iTunes, it does not pick my USB connected iPod, so I can’t

sync my iPod with new stuff from iTunes.  I can “see” the iPod using File

Explorer so doesn’t appear to be a PC to device issue with USB.

I understand that there is a known error with iTunes not picking

up USB connected iPhones or iPods following upgrading to Windows 10..  I

have searched the internet for a fix and tried some which have not resolved the

problem.

I can confirm that I have all Windows 10 updates installed and I

am using the latest version of iTunes and, as far as I know, I have the latest

versions of the Apple drivers.

Looking forward to any help.

Many thanks

Thank you for your reply and interest.

I removed iTunes and other associated software as described in the linked documentation and reinstalled iTunes.

However, I still have the same problem; ie iTunes does not pick my USB connected iPod, so I can’t sync my iPod with new stuff from iTunes.  I can “see” the iPod using File Explorer in Windows so it doesn’t appear to be a PC to device issue with USB.

Is there something I have missed or anything you suggest I try please.

Thanks and regards

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling right click on the downloaded setup file and use run as administrator. It may also help to temporarily disable any non-Microsoft anti-virus.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment. Links to the most recent builds are now at the bottom of the page.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
