how to get iCloud to start backing up again

Hello warren106,


This may be semantics but I wasn't to make sure to mention that iCloud Backups are only available for iOS (including iPads and iPods). You can have certain folders and apps on a macOS system sync to iCloud Drive but it is not a backup.


If you are missing your synced desktop and documents folder or contents within an iCloud eligible app check the iCloud Drive options. These are found in the System Preferences App > Apple ID > iCloud. Make sure iCloud Drive is checked then select "Options" to make sure "Desktop & Documents Folders" is also checked.


If it is already checked you may want to try unchecking it then rechecking or signing out of your Apple ID then signing back-in.
