Mac OSX: Exporting Full Size Photo from Photos

Hello.

I am having issues with exporting out of Photos full size pictures. I don't want to save all the pictures on my Mac, I just want to have a few selected pictures so that I can prepare them for print. When I Get Info on a picture in the Photo library it tells me it is 2.9MB, but when I export it onto my Desktop it is only 918 KB.

How can I selectively bring full size versions of pictures onto my desktop?

Thanks a lot.

To find the "Quality" options for the exported photos in the "File > Export > Export .. photos" dialog, you have to reveal them by clicking the tiny arrow to the right of "Photo Kind "JPEG" - only then you will see the additional options for the quality and size.

File Size is governed by the Quality setting in the export dialogue. Higher Quality means less compression equals larger file size. Export at maximum quality and there's a very good chance your exported file will be larger than the one you imported.

I would note that file size doesn't have much impact on the quality of the resulting prints.
