Trade In is country dependent.

In the U.S. you can initiate the trade in here: link-> Apple Trade In - Apple and scroll down to the section titled “Select your device to get a trade-in estimate without a purchase” then follow the onscreen prompts. Once you get the value estimate you can start the trade in process right there too. Once you send in your Mac and get a gift card for its value, you can use that gift card during the purchase to reduce the price of the iPad.
