I have a mac mini setup in my cupboard, connected to an amplifier which in turn is connected to my TV which I use as a monitor. I have bought a logitech c920 camera and plugged it into the tv usb port. however I can't get it to switch on or be recognised by the software or computer.

Can it be connected and used for FaceTime somehow?External

never ever heard of a way of connecting anything to a tv which would enable the device to access the usb port of the tv, the usb port of tv's are usually meant for connecting an usb stick with movies or photos to the tv and have the tv's build in software display said media on the screen.
