Migration Assistant

I started the initial setup on an M1 iMac and logged into iCloud. Can I still use Migration Assistant from my old Mac (High Sierra)?

Migration Assistant will create a new account and presumably you’ll want to use that account so work you’ve done in the new account will be lost. But anything you’ve done that involves iCloud (like setting up mail etc) won’t. Any programs you may have installed won’t be affected.
