Alternative to LaCie's Rugged SSD Pro

Jack-19 was kind to offer the subject SSD as solution to "How to Setup and Use an External SSD as your Startup Disk on a 2012 or newer Desktop Mac". My question is could "https://www.lacie.com/products/portable-ssd/ - STKS1000400 - be an alternative (cost), yet maintains "full-throttle read speed of up to 1050MB/s and write speed of up to 1000MB/s"..."fast SSD speeds comparable to NVMe"..."Comes with USB-C cable for ultra-fast transfers with USB 3.2 Gen 2 (USB-C) or Thunderbolt™ 3 computers."

Not knowing about the impact it could have on a iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2019), [3 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5]...brings me back to ask. If not an alternative, please advise. Thank you!!!

R,

JUst a short note to thank you for your suggestion: it has made such a difference! It is a pleasure now to use the iMac. I just finished installing the OWC EnvoyPro SX, as an external SSD dive...And...wow!!! what a difference!

Thanks to you for your suggestion, thanks to Jack and to Old Toad: the 3 of you made such a difference!

Keep safe!
