Cannot use Touch ID on Magic Keyboard

I cannot use Touch ID on Magic Keyboard connected to a MacBook Pro 13,2 running Big Sur 11.5.2. Tried paying with and without the USB-C cable. Using a long-press in the Touch ID button locks the screen, but will not respond to open using touch. I also reconfigured the finger prints from the MacBook Touch ID button.

If your Internal keyboard TouchID is not working you can try both:

Try resetting the SMC http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
