Notification I Received

I received a notification last night saying “Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iMessage and FaceTime on a new iPad”. I have an iPad, but I have not logged in in several days. Is this a security issue I need to worry about?

Check your device list to see if there is a device signed in that you don't recognize. You can remove the device using the steps in the article below. As a precaution, change your password.

Hi there Shelby-08,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand you have some concerns about the security of your Apple ID and we'd be happy to help assist you with this. It's possible that the notification you're receiving is just delayed if you signed into your iPad a few days ago, but it won't hurt to take a look and review the procedures below for steps on what to do if you believe your Apple ID has been compromised. We'd first recommend taking a look at your device list and see if you see an unknown device showing there. You can also change your Apple ID password and force all devices to sign out.

We hope this helps.
