A "Windows Defender Security Warning" has popped up on our iMac (iOS 10.9.5), in full-screen mode, so we can't access any of the toolbars to close and remove it. The only option it offers is to call a phone number, supposedly to purchase "Trojan spyware" protection. It's a known scam. How can I remove it?

I am afraid that OS X Mavericks 10.9 is too old to use Malwarebytes for Mac to remove it. What App has this appeared in? Can you press Command + Q to Quit the App?
