I was upgraded to ICloud+ and want to back up my Wife's phone. Will that work with Family Sharing?

iPhone and iPad iCloud backups are kept local to the Apple ID used.

Available storage can be pooled using Family Sharing.

If storage sharing is enabled within Family Sharing, your spouse will have access to that storage.

Share iCloud+ with your family - Apple Support

Add a family member to your subscriptions from Apple - Apple Support

Once storage sharing is enabled, it’ll be automatic for all family members on the free tier, too.

iCloud+ is the name of the paid tier, and iCloud is now the name of the free tier. Several new features have been added as part of iCloud+, but nothing of consequence here.
